Checklist.

You know a friendship's good when...

1) you aren't afraid to fall, because you know there's someone to catch you at the bottom

2) you share the most epic moments, and the most awesome memories

3) the silences, the short SMSes only mean you're close enough for them not to matter

4) you can say, "I love you", and mean it

5) you finish each other's sentences

6) you don't think about what you say before you say it

7) time passes, relationships break and begin, but we can just pick up where we left off

8) A true friend is someone who sees the pain in your eyes when everyone else believes the smile on your face.

9) on your worst day, only one person sees your tears, and makes you smile (or a few, if you're lucky to have that many friends, which I think I am!)

10) you think you know yourself, but someone knows you better.

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words. :)

Suddenly, the cynical side of me is already seeing it as a bunch of rubbish. It is telling me that impermanence is omnipresent and that there is no such thing as a true friend.

And yet, the other side of me, the one that thinks he has experienced true friendship is looking at the list, silently ticking off the points he has, and the ones he doesn't.

It's gonna be a long, lonely journey back boys.
